New Mexico Summer 2022 Workshop Registration

In Partnership With:

The National Space Grant College & Fellowship Program

WHAT: Space Flight Experiments & CubeSat Professional Development Workshop for Teachers

Teachers, how would you like to learn how to build an Arduino based miniature satellite with your students and launch it to the upper atmosphere and into space!? You will learn how to easily build and program a 1U CubeSat experimental platform with an Arduino microcontroller, 3D printed frame, and various sensors. You will have the opportunity to fly with your CubeSat on a glider ride around the Alamagordo area, then you will be part of a high altitude balloon mission to collect data from up to 100,000 feet in the stratosphere. After the workshop ends, take the equipment back to the classroom and work with your students to build a flight-ready CubeSat experiment, with regular Q&A check-ins with TIS staff and partners. Those experiments that pass all engineering milestones throughout the schoolyear will be eligible to fly on a suborbital or orbital rocket launch with one of our space flight providers.
